The Design Approach:
The visual identity for Cold Cravings centres around a playful custom mascot and hand-crafted logo, bringing personality and playfulness to the brand. Inspired by 1960s retro cartoons, the character was created to look like an ice cream. Blending original design work with touches of Adobe Firefly for extended storytelling, the result is a cohesive and energetic visual language that highlights the joy of ice cream—making the brand feel as fun and crave-able as its flavours.
The Logo:
The Cold Cravings logo began with the Brother 1816 Printed typeface as its foundation and was further customised to match the brand’s playful spirit. Key letterforms, like the ‘O’ and ‘A’, were reimagined to introduce softness and character, while subtle shape adjustments across the typography helped create a more dynamic and approachable identity. The result is a logo that feels both familiar and fresh—capturing the charm of vintage design with a fun, contemporary twist.
The Packaging:
The packaging for Cold Cravings was kept intentionally simple to let the brand’s playful identity shine. Ice cream cups feature the custom logo and a subtle pattern derived from its letterforms, creating a cohesive and recognisable look. Complemented by vibrant sticker designs, the packaging adds just the right touch of character while keeping the focus on the delicious ice cream inside.
Print & Promo:
A suite of promotional materials was designed to bring the Cold Cravings brand to life in both customer and staff touchpoints. Simple, bold posters announce the shop’s opening, while a custom loyalty card rewards regulars with a free ice cream after their 7th visit. Branded employee t-shirts were also created to tie the in-store experience together—adding personality, consistency, and a sense of fun to the team’s presence.
